MYZONE Measures and Motivates

MYZONE, the activity tracker that not only estimates calories burned, but also monitors your heart rate to determine effort exerted during exercise, has been changing lives in four of our clubs over the past year.
MYZONE Moves
We first debuted MYZONE, the leading wearable technology on the planet, in our Montreal club, and the technology quickly became a part of the fabric of the club.
By guaranteeing accurate and personalized results that help you make the most of your workouts, members soon discovered that their belts became an essential component of their workouts.
The beauty of MYZONE is that users can know their heart rate at any given time in their workout. And because the tool measures effort and not fitness, the on-screen data provided by MYZONE allows you to see the efficacy of your workouts with medical-grade accuracy.
MYZONE Measures
When you are brand new to exercise, your heart rate rises quickly, but it takes some time to cool down.
Richard Earney, National Program Director for Midtown Athletic Clubs, says, “The measure of your fitness is not how high your heart rate rises during exercise, but how quickly you recover,”
By having this information readily available during your workout, you’ll be able to achieve the results you want in less time.
If you happen to be working with a coach, exercising while wearing your MYZONE belt will allow the coach to see exactly how you’re progressing, helping you to stay accountable and meet fitness milestones.
MYZONE Motivates
When you use the belt for every workout, your training intelligence increases, allowing you to take charge of your own fitness.
MYZONE also features a unique point system that levels the playing field no matter how fit you are. MEPs (MYZONE Effort Points) are awarded for every minute spent exercising in your personal intensity zone. Someone who is extremely fit has to work twice as hard to earn MEPs as someone who is not as fit.
Earning points for your effort becomes a fun and addictive game. You earn 1 point in gray, 2 points in blue, 3 points in green, and 4 in yellow and red.
And if you struggle with motivating yourself to get to the club for your workout, you’ll be happy to know that our research has shown members with MYZONE belts visit the club more often than those without.
You’re not restricted to in-club use either. The belt holds 15 hours of data, so take it with you on your skiing vacation, or when you run on the beach. You can then upload the data to your phone whenever you want, or share the data on social media.
MYZONE is simple, effective, and fun, with a clearly identifiable health benefit. In fact, doctors in Montreal have even begun prescribing its usage to patients in Montreal to help prevent heart disease because they understand that health accountability is key to making the lifestyle changes needed to improve overall fitness.
