Kidtown Information & Procedures
To ensure the safety of your children, we are implementing several new health and safety targeted procedures, including the wearing of face coverings by children and Kidtown associates at all times, appointment-only check ins and ratio limits, social distancing, and enhanced cleaning protocols — such as routine hard surface sanitization using AOS solution and airPHX air circulation sanitizing system.
Please take a moment to carefully read through and familiarize yourself with new procedures outlined below.
- Kidtown will be open Sunday through Saturday from 8:00am until 1:00pm and for member 3 months to 12 years.
- A 2 hour reservation may be made within any of the above time periods.
- Reservations can only be made during operating hours of Kidtown.
- A reservation is required for entry and will only be accepted by phone (630-861-7720), up to 3 days in advance.
- Drop-ins are accepted with a $15.00 fee for children not added on family membership.
- Children ages 3-12 years will be required to wear masks while in Kidtown. Masks are not required for children 2 years and under.
- Children will be grouped in stable cohorts during their stay with family members and/or by age.
- No outside food/drink/toys will be allowed.
- If a child becomes ill while at Kidtown, the child will be removed from the group accompanied by a counselor. The parent will be contacted to care for their child.
- A water cup is allowed (must have a lid and be labeled with child’s name).
- When picking-up your child or children, parents are expected to be timely.
- We will be using a 1 in/1 out sign in technique.
- Only 1 parent/guardian allowed in per family.
- If someone is checking in you will wait outside the glass door until they exit.
- Please keep 6ft distance if others are waiting as well.
- When you enter the room use the hand sanitizer on the wall for you and your child(ren).
- You will need to go through a screening process before your child is allowed through the gate.
- We will use a contactless thermometer to record your child’s temperature.
- The associate will ask a few questions to assess any health risk.
- You will check-in using your membership scan card. If you do not have one, we will issue you a new one.
- Parents will provide a mobile phone number in the event contacting the parent is necessary.
- Give the associate any additional instructions they need for your child(ren).
- Prior to entry, all children will have their temperature checked and parents will answer a brief health appraisal to assure their child does not have symptoms of illness. If a child has a fever of 100.4 degrees the child will not be permitted to enter Kidtown, and parents will be encouraged to see a health care provider.
- In addition to a temperature check and health appraisal, a child will not be allowed access if they have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus, show any symptoms associated with COVID-19 (fever, cough, difficulty breathing, respiratory problems, chills, repeated shaking, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or loss of taste/smell). In the event of signs of these symptoms, a child will not be able to return to Kidtown until symptom free for 72 hours without the aid of medication.
- Children may not bring personal items from home while attending the nursery.
- Parents will not be allowed past the Kidtown check-in counter.
- Access will be denied for refusal to participate in any part of the screening process.
- Parents are expected to pick up their child at the end of their reservation period.
- The parent that dropped-off a child will be expected to pick-up.
- In reverse of the arrival procedure, parents will pick up at the Kidtown counter while being mindful of the parents and children that are being picked up at the same time. Please social distance while picking up your child.
- Parents who are not timely will have their Kidtown privileges suspended.
