The New Standard of Clean

A fully equipped team, innovative new technologies, and enhanced policies.

When you first walk into the club you are likely to notice a few changes, and there are many more behind the scenes. These changes are the result of our team's dedication to providing you the safest and cleanest possible club experience.

Cleaning Philosophy
We All All CleanersWe Are All Cleaners
All Midtown associates are now part of our housekeeping team. Every team member is equipped with a bottle of disinfectant, a towel, and all the necessary training on best-in-class cleaning techniques. Our challenge to ourselves: 'ABC, or always be cleaning'.
To Keep Us Together, We Stay ApartTo Keep Us Together, We Stay Apart
Our clubs are a community, and to keep that community safe we must practice social distancing. Midtown will take advantage of the large size of our clubs so that all members will have over 100 square feet of space. Physical dividers will be installed where necessary for our associate and member safety.
Cleaning Supplies, SuppliedCleaning Supplies, Supplied
You will find hand sanitizer stations throughout the club, as well as disinfectant wipes throughout all areas with shared equipment.
Fever-Free EnvironmentFever-Free Environment
We are taking the temperature of every person entering the club, ensuring we are all below the fever threshold of 100.4 degrees. Every club is equipped with contact-free thermometers, which we will use as you check in. All associates will also be checked before their shifts.
Plan Your Trip Based on Club CapacityPlan Your Trip Based on Club Capacity
As an extra precaution, and to help ensure proper distancing, we are reducing the maximum capacity of our clubs. Please check online to see the current club attendance compared to the new total capacity. Hopefully this helps you plan your trips to the club.
Studio CapacitiesStudio Capacities
While the club itself will have an overall capacity limit, we are also limiting capacity in each studio space.
Personal Protective Equipment

Personal Protective Equipment
All associates will wear masks. We highly recommend members wear face coverings at the club. Masks, bandanas, and other PPE, will be available at the club for purchase.

*At the Midtown Chicago Club, masks will be mandatory.

Signage at the ClubSignage at the Club
Signs around the club will help reinforce this information. Please be on the lookout and take note of these signs.
CommunicationCommunication
We are using email to communicate all important club updates. If you are not currently on our email list, please use this link to subscribe. You can also follow us on Instagram for daily wellness content and to stay connected to our community.

1-2 Cleaning Approach
This is our cleaning philosophy. The first line of defense is you--please make sure to wipe down equipment after you use it. The second clean is our professional staff, who will constantly clean all club equipment throughout the day.

Notifications of Positive Cases
If we become aware that you have had any direct exposure to a person who has tested positive for COVID, like during a personal training session, we will reach out and notify you directly. We will report cases to, and work with, local health departments for contact tracing purposes. In accordance with CDC guidelines aimed at conserving COVID tests for those who truly need them, and to avoid undue concern, we do not plan to notify the entire membership or send mass emails when a positive case arises in the club. Our enhanced cleaning technology, procedures, and member etiquette guidelines greatly reduce the likelihood of general transmission within the club, even if someone with the virus happens to be at the club at the same time as you.

Innovative Tech
airPHX

airPHX
airPHX technology provides 24 hour coverage against bacteria and viruses. airPHX (pronounced “Air-fix”) provides nonstop sanitization of ambient air plus all exposed surfaces, including fitness equipment, weights, turf, rubber, wood and tile surfaces. We have completed volumetric studies for each of our facilities, ensuring that our airPHX units are appropriately sited to provide maximum efficiency and effective coverage. For a more in-depth, scientific overview of this technology, click here

AOSAOS
Midtown uses AOS (Aqueous Ozone Solution) as its standard cleaning fluid in the clubs. AOS represents a seismic leap in cleaning technology and is a true differentiator. The active cleaning agent, Ozone, is stabilized inside water—so that it stays active and effective while remaining harmless to humans. AOS is more powerful, and faster acting, than bleach. AOS is non toxic, with no harmful side effect on humans (for skin contact, eye contact, and even ingestion--though we don't recommend it). AOS is a complete cleaning solution and can be used for all surfaces--including laundry. AOS is "greener than green". It is 100% sustainable--we make the solution every day on site using tap water and electricity, then it converts back to water and oxygen after 72 hours. For a more in-depth, scientific overview of this technology, click here
UV Light SystemsMatsana
The Matsana yoga mat disinfection system is the only UV light technology to safely and effectively eliminate surface bacteria and viruses on yoga mats; this system is in place in all Midtown yoga facilities. Matsana uses a high-intensity UV-C light chamber to safely circulate mats through a chamber, exposing all surfaces to concentrated germicidal light that kills microorganisms by destroying their DNA.

Using the same light technology employed by hospitals to sanitize high risk rooms, Matsana sanitizes standard yoga mats to a test lab verified standard of 99.99% germ free in 20 seconds. We use this system to clean every shared mat after each use--and keep the machine open for you to use it on your personal mat if you wish.

Ultraviolet Pool Sanitization
Used in our indoor pool facilities, ultraviolet water treatment has been proven safer, healthier and easier to manage than traditional sanitization methods. This non-chemical process uses germicidal UV light rays to sanitize the water as a supplemental system to traditional pool chemicals. The highly concentrated electromagnetic energy also destroys organic matter, eliminating the formation of dangerous chlorine by-products in and on top of the water surface.
2XL Force Disinfectant Wipes2XL Force Disinfectant Wipes
All fitness areas throughout our facilities have readily available, regularly spaced disinfectant wipes for members’ use. 2XL Force Disinfectant Wipes are powerful and safe EPA registered disinfectant wipes that are effective against 49 pathogens, including against viruses similar to COVID-19. Members are expected to wipe down all equipment and surfaces before and after use with 2XL wipes to provide quick and effective sanitization of commonly touched surfaces, as the first step in our 1-2 Cleaning Approach.
Hand Sanitizer StationsHand Sanitizer Stations
Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout our facilities, in most instances offering touchless application of sanitizing solution. These alcohol-based sanitizers provide in excess of 70% ethyl alcohol, killing more than 99.99% of the most common germs in as little as 15 seconds. We have increased the visibility and quantity of these stations throughout our facilities, including at club check in and on all fitness floors.
Touchless AmenitiesDyson Hand Dryers
A highly hygienic hand drying solution, the Dyson Airblade is the only hand dryer certified by the NSF International Protocol 335. Airblades feature an integrated HEPA filter that capture 99.97% of bacteria-sized particles from the washroom air. An antimicrobial coating and touch-free operation helps to prevent the spread of viruses and bacteria. Touchless Dyson hand dryers are located throughout our single user bathrooms and locker rooms.

Sensor Hand Washing
Touchless sink faucets with proximity sensors are located throughout our single user bathrooms and locker rooms, offering contactless hand washing.
No Contact Water Refill Stations
Proximity sensor water stations are located throughout our fitness areas, offering touchless water refills. All drinking fountains will be temporarily decommissioned, and we are temporarily removing paper cups. Water bottles are available at the club.

Member Etiquette
Staying Safe, Together

Staying Safe, Together
You have an important role in all of us staying safe. We are all part of a Midtown family that wants to stay healthy--and so we ask that you please keep in mind these etiquette guidelines while at the club.

  • Please do not come to the club if you feel sick.
  • Please be respectful of social distance guidelines while at the club, for yourself and others.
  • Please practice proper hand washing while at the club.
  • Please wipe down the equipment and spaces you use after you are done.
  • In the early stages of opening, we ask that you limit your time at the club to ninety minutes per visit. This will help us control the reduced capacity of the club.

  • In light of capacity restrictions and our commitment to our member experience, we will temporarily not permit guests at the club.
