Welcome to The New Year and what a way to start off 2009. We have plenty of great news about Midtown Weston Aquatics Swim Team and Masters Swimming. Our pool looks fabulous now that the resurfacing has been completed (thank you all for your patience). We are also happy to announce that Midtown Weston Aquatics is officially a United States Masters Swimming (USMS) Swim Club.
Midtown Weston Aquatics (MWA)
Our Swim Team was completely restructured. Now, we have 7 different levels of swimmers on the team.
We have added mandatory morning practices for the Elite Group. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:00 am to 6:15 am. All swimmers from the third stage are welcome to attend.
Florida Gold Coast Invitational at Coral Springs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, February 27th, 28th and March 1st. All swimmers are invited to participate on the meet. If you are NOT planning to participate, make sure you let Coach Raphael Lima know by February 14th.
Broward South - 8 & under Sizzler, Friday, March 6th at American Heritage School. All swimmers 8 & under are invited to participate on the meet. If you are NOT planning to participate, make sure you let Coach Raphael Lima know by March 2nd.
Midtown Weston Aquatics – Masters Swim Team (MWA)
To register as a USMS Midtown Weston Aquatics (MWA) team, go to www.usms.org click on Join/Renew on your left, enter your zip code, click on Register Online Now, register under our team/club name Midtown Weston Aquatics MWA and you can print your card or have it mailed to you. The annual fee is $40.00 for membership to USMS and you will receive magazines and access to the many local Masters Swim meets and open water competitions. Stay tuned for competition updates and get ready to compete as a MWA Masters Swim Team!!!!.
First swim meet of 2009 for masters, Short Course Yard Championship at Pompano Beach Aquatic Center on March 06th, 07th and 08th. Please let either Coach Raphael or Coach Thaddeus know if you ARE planning to participate by February 14th.
